We are mapping the skills for CCAM uptake and forecasting the impact on employment. Want to contribute?

ReSKILLING is currently exploring the employment effects of CCAM deployment over the short-, medium-, and long-term. The work is running along two parallel tracks:

1) the development of a skills matrix (a map linking jobs to the skills they require for CCAM transition)

2)  and the forecasting of employment effects (predicting how many jobs will exist in the future).

The matrix and the forecast exercise will feed into each other to give a complete overview on the workforce developments related to the introduction of CCAM.

Our skill matrix was based on desk research, stakeholder interviews, and a co-creation workshop. This mapping helps connect various job types to relevant skills for the workforce transition.

Interviews are still ongoing, and if you have relevant insights on CCAM related skills and workforce transitions, we would be delighted to talk with you! This way, you can flag skills challenges and opportunities of your job in relation to the emerging CCAM technologies! We are especially looking for stakeholders involved in the following sectors:

  • Decommissioning & Recycling
  • Recycling and Waste Management
  • Construction
  • Emergency & Incident Management
  •  Insurance & Risk Assessment
  • Socioeconomic & Impact Analyst
  • Health, Safety & Ergonomics

We’re also following up on the Ecorys 2020 study on employment in connected and automated driving, using recent data to validate CCAM uptake scenarios and identify the most realistic deployment path. We’ll also model historical data to produce updated long-term employment trends in the transport sector.
