What happened during the ReSKILLING workshop on CCAM employment effects?

The ReSKILLING workshop on CCAM employment effects, held in Brussels on October 8, brought together +20 stakeholders and project partners to explore how automation will reshape the transport workforce. The workshop was organised by project partner Ecorys (Karoline Führer and Davide Dolente) and featured representatives of the CCAM-ERAS project.

Throughout the day, participants examined four future CCAM deployment scenarios based on different levels of government and corporate power, revealing how policy and investment choices could influence job security, inequality, and the pace of reskilling

The sessions also looked at emerging business models, identifying which roles will be most affected and what skills shifts they will bring.

Discussions highlighted the move away from traditional driving roles to service, maintenance, and remote operation positions, and stressed the importance of transversal skills such as cybersecurity, AI literacy, and ethics

It was overall a positive and productive morning, with interesting reflections which will directly impact the next phases of the project.

We thank you all participants for their very important contributions to this conversation!
