ReSKILLING at a workshop in SIL Barcelona to investigate skills needs in the progressively more automated logistics sector

How can logistics professionals prepare for the technological progress and future automation processes?

On 5 June 2025, at SIL Barcelona, ReSKILLING and Skills4EII Project joined forces in the workshop "Logistics Reskilling: Preparing People for the Technological Revolution", led by Susana Val and M Teresa de la Cruz, PhD from Zaragoza Logistics Center.

The panelists and the attendes have investigated together how digitalisation, automation and emerging technologies (including automation) are transforming logistics and mobility in all its aspects. 

The workshop also touched upon the importance of reskilling and upskilling pathways for current workers in the sector to ensure that professionals remain at the centre of this transition. The workshop offered a detailed overview of the skills that are needed to navigate technological change, as identified by our project.
