ReSKILLING introduces Advisory Board in first project exchange

The transition to Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) presents both opportunities and challenges for Europe’s mobility workforce. As automation reshapes job profiles and demands new skills, the ReSKILLING project (funded under Horizon Europe under Grant Agreement No. 101147328) seeks to facilitate a scenario where Europe’s workers are prepared to navigate this transformation through inclusive, future-proof training pathways.

A key element in achieving this ambition is the project’s Advisory Board (AB), a multidisciplinary group of experts tasked with providing strategic insight and supporting alignment with real-world needs.

On 23 June 2025, ReSKILLING held the first exchange with its Advisory Board members. The virtual meeting offered a space to formally introduce the project, present its upcoming milestones, and initiate dialogue with the AB. Members were invited to share their backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas for how their expertise could contribute to the project’s mission of enabling a just transition in the CCAM sector.

“In the automotive industry, anticipating talent needs and aligning innovation with training strategies is crucial. Through SERNAUTO, we aim to channel industry insights into ReSKILLING’s work, ensuring that the project’s outcomes reflect real labour market dynamics and support the upskilling of workers across the supply chain,” said Cecilia Medina, Head of Innovation and Talent at SERNAUTO, Spain’s national association of automotive suppliers.

“Linking education and training systems to real work environment is key to delivering impact. At Céreq, we generate evidence to support better-informed training policies. We look forward to bringing this expertise to ReSKILLING to help develop skills strategies that are inclusive, data-driven, and responsive to the evolution of transport jobs”, added Matteo Sgarzi, Head of Mission International Relations at the French Centre for Research on Education, Training and Employment (Céreq).

The Advisory Board includes high-level representatives from labour unions, public institutions, industry associations, academia, and the mobility sector. Their organisations are based in Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This broad composition ensures that ReSKILLING benefits from a wide range of perspectives - both technical and societal.

Their guidance will support the quality, relevance, usability, and awareness of ReSKILLING’s results, helping to shape a just and effective transition for Europe’s transport workforce.
